What is treated

Signs that your rest is not working.

Sleep-disordered breathing is increasingly common and can affect energy, concentration and long-term health.

01

Snoring

Frequent or loud snoring that disrupts your rest or that of the person sleeping next to you.

02

Sleep apnea

Pauses in breathing during sleep, waking at night and daytime sleepiness.

03

Insomnia

Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep through the night.

04

Other sleep disorders

Besides snoring, sleep apnea and insomnia, other sleep disorders are assessed in consultation to decide whether a study is needed and which treatment is appropriate.

Sleep studies

Measuring what happens while you sleep.

When the assessment of your symptoms points to it, a sleep study is carried out to confirm the diagnosis. Analysing the study makes it possible to define the right treatment for each case. Dr. Leonardo performs two types of study:

Patient during a sleep polygraphy study: nasal cannula measuring airflow, chest band recording breathing movements and pulse oximeter measuring blood oxygen saturation and heart rate.

Sleep polygraphy study

Records your breathing while you sleep using three sensors: a nasal cannula that measures airflow, a chest band that records breathing movements and a pulse oximeter that measures blood oxygen saturation and heart rate.

Polysomnography

A sleep study carried out overnight, with sensors placed on the body (as in the photograph at the top of this page). It is indicated according to each patient's case.

  • Detailed evaluation of your sleep symptoms.
  • The study is only indicated when it is needed.
  • Analysis of the study and a clear explanation of the results.
  • Treatment according to the condition diagnosed.

Guidance and follow-up
